Recently I took a trip to Amsterdam where I visited the Vincent Van Gogh Museum. In the collection there is a painting of two couples in a park titled Garden with Courting Couples. At the time I saw this painting I had just completed a project of 24 watercolors based on a love poem about a young couple who secretly met in an idyllic vineyard. The Van Gogh painting gave me the inspiration for to me return to the subject and create one more watercolor - this time in homage to Vincent. The work is based on a vineyard I visited in Connecticut.
