This watercolor is from my 'Italian' Sketchbook, a small, handmade, leather-bound pocket sketchbook I always bring to record my trips and memories of Italy. As you step into the Courtyard at the Doge's Palace in Venice, you are met with a magnificent sight. To your left and towards the back stands St. Mark's Basilica, while on your right is the Doge's Palace. The particular view that I captured in my painting is that of the section of St. Mark's that served as the Doge's personal Chapel.
